Privacy Policy

1. What we don't collect

No email address, no phone number, no sign-up form. There is nothing that requires you to identify yourself to use StationTalk.

2. What we do store

• Recovery phrase: we never store your 16-word phrase in plain text — only a one-way cryptographic hash of it, used to verify it when you recover your account.
• Display name / avatar: randomly assigned, or a custom one you set (Premium). Never your real identity unless you choose to type it as your display name.
• Room membership: which stations you've joined and when, kept for moderation (e.g. enforcing bans) and the moderator-promotion timer.
• Chat messages: currently stored as plain text on our server (not end-to-end encrypted yet) so we can enforce moderation and bans. We are not able to promise chat content is unreadable by us in this version — we're telling you this directly rather than implying otherwise.
• Voice/video: encrypted in transit (the same standard used by WebRTC calls generally), but not end-to-end encrypted in this version — technically, our media server could access raw audio/video, though it is not recorded or stored.

3. What we never log

Your IP address is not stored alongside your identity or activity.

4. How we use your data

Only to run the service: connecting you to a room, showing who's in it, enforcing the 18+ age gate, moderation (bans, rate limits), and — if you're Premium — showing your custom name/avatar/theme. We do not sell your data or show third-party ads.

5. Who can see your data

Other participants in a station can see your display name, hear your voice if you speak, and read chat you send in that station. Station moderators can see the same, plus who is a member of the station.

6. Deleting your data

Because there's no email/phone tied to your account, we can't verify a deletion request by login credentials the usual way. If you want your account and its data removed, contact billing@stationtalk.in from any address and reference your identity (e.g. the display name shown on your profile) — we'll verify and action it manually while this is a small-scale launch.

7. Security

Traffic to StationTalk is encrypted (HTTPS/TLS). Passwords aren't a thing here, but your recovery phrase is treated with the same care: hashed, never logged, never emailed.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new date.
