Terms & Conditions

Last updated: September 2026. This is a plain-language draft for StationTalk's v1 launch — have it reviewed by a lawyer before relying on it for a public release.

1. What StationTalk is

StationTalk is an anonymous, topic-based live audio chat service. You join a "station" (a room organized around an Indian city or topic), listen, and optionally speak or use text chat with other participants. There is no email signup — an account is a randomly generated identity recoverable only with a 16-word phrase you're shown once.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to use StationTalk. By using the service you confirm you meet this requirement. We do not knowingly permit anyone under 18 to use it.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use StationTalk to:

  • Harass, threaten, or abuse another person.
  • Share illegal content, or content exploiting or endangering minors.
  • Impersonate another person or organization in a misleading way.
  • Spam, flood, or disrupt a station's audio, chat, or membership.
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits, bans, or other safety controls.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, or attack the service's infrastructure.

4. Moderation & enforcement

Stations have moderators (earned automatically after some time actively participating) who can remove and ban a participant from a station for violating these terms or a station's norms. Automated systems may also temporarily or permanently block access for abusive or automated (bot-like) traffic patterns. We may suspend or terminate any identity that repeatedly violates these terms.

5. Your account & recovery phrase

Your recovery phrase is the only way to recover your identity — we cannot reset, recover, or verify it any other way, because we never collect an email or phone number. Keep it private; anyone with your phrase can access your identity.

6. Premium

Premium features (custom display name/avatar, theme, referral perks) are optional and activated manually today — see our pricing page. Premium does not change your obligations under these terms.

7. No warranty

StationTalk is provided "as is," without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service, or that content you encounter from other users is safe, accurate, or appropriate.

8. Changes

We may update these terms as the service evolves. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
